Painting is done in studios far and wide, in-doors and out. Concepts are diverse and often influenced by emotions inspired by the people and places discovered on painting excursions. The excursions range from coast to coast in Canada and to spots such as London, Paris, Provence, and Tuscany. In order to capture the essence of a place paintings contain some abstraction in colour, shape, and composition, remembering, "a painting should be complete, but never finished." Inviting the viewer to explore and participate in interpreting the painting is the challenge. The real joy is in the process of seeing, creating, experimenting, and applying the paint.
